"If you've got the bottle, tell it to the Marines!"
And pretty soon you could be following in the footsteps of the elite Royal Marines Commandos - the cream of the British fighting forces
Learn the combat skills of camouflage and concealment, reach a rendezvous with a map and compass or just the stars to guide you and get to grips with the firepower of some of the latest weapons.
Yes, you can test your talents against one of the toughest challenges in the book and develop new skills to give you a head start in life. Alpha Company have Royal Marines Cadet Detachments all around the South West, South Wales and West Midlands area. Check out the Troop locations pages to find your local unit. And to really impress your mates, there's a bonus in store for when you change out of your combat kit, for parades and ceremonial occasions you'll wear the famous "Blues" - Dress uniform of the Royal Marines.
As you'd expect, the Royal Marines Cadet Detachments are highly disciplined so that each member of a "section" can depend 100% on their mates. You'll learn self discipline and teamwork. And because you're part of a Sea Cadet Unit there are all the waterborne activities too.
The Royal Marines Cadets are currently open to boys and girls from the age 13 and promotion prospects are good. So when you make Cadet Sergeant you'll be leading your own troops on training exercises and challenges
Are you over eighteen with a bit of time on your hands and want to put something back into your local community, gain qualifications and develop key life skills too?
We greatly value our adult instructors, without whom Alpha Company or the Royal Marines Cadets just simply could not function. Whatever your background, qualifications and experience there is a place for you within Alpha Company Royal Marines Cadets
If you are interested in developing yourself, gaining qualifications and awards, we can help you. Our adult training courses and development courses are designed in such a way as to help you develop new skills, many are recognised with external civilian qualifications such as EDEXCEL, ILM and CIty & Guilds up to Masters Degree Level.
There are many other opportunities to develop skills and become a qualified instructor in a huge range of activities such as hill walking, kayaking, canoeing, climbing, communications, first aid, sailing, power boating to name a few.
Alpha Company and the Royal Marines Cadets enjoy the benefit of the strong close liaison and links with the regular Corps of Royal Marines and we are honoured and privileged to be part of that "Corps", the Best family in the world.
It doesn't matter whether you have got previous experience dealing with young people or not - we're just looking for willing volunteers who want to be part of the team and enjoy the satisfaction of seeing our Cadets develop and mature into responsible adults. As you'd expect, all our volunteers are rigorously vetted.
Former Royal Marines and Service personnel of any rank are welcome to join us, please contact us with your service details and qualifications.
